Curriculum

To reach the vision and mission, the curriculum is designed with the ratio of 57% for practice and 43% for theory. The course subjects consist of four English language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), grammar, vocabulary, and supporting subjects which can be applied in industry and business. In accordance with the aim of the English Department, the graduates are expected not only to have English skills but also the ability to support the operation of an industry and business.

The Co-Curricular Programme

In order to support the curricular activities and to make the students to deepen the material in the curriculum, co-curricular activities are held such as Industrial Visit, Guest Lecturers Program, Table Manner Course, and Personal Grooming. The students also have the facilities to evaluate their English skills through English Proficiency Test (EPT) and Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).

Industrial visit is held to observe and exposed to the working environment in the industry or company. This program is intended for the second semester students so that they have an idea of the work environment that they will face later. To run this program, the students are given the responsibility to manage and to find the company that they want to visit.

Guest Lecturers Program is held to provide additional knowledge from industry practitioners, professionals, or alumni, who will share their experiences based on the reality. This program is given to the students of each generation.

Table Manner Course is conducted to provide knowledge and practice of etiquette of international standard dining manner. This course is given in cooperation with the hotels in Bandung to the fourth semester students who will have their job training.

Personal Grooming Training is a training about having a good appearance. This course aims at providing more knowledge of how to look attractive and professional before they plunge themselves into the community or workplace. The program is organized in collaboration with leading cosmectic company.

English Proficiency Test (EPT) is a program to measure and to identify the development of the students' English skills. The UPT-Bahasa holds this program annually to every generation. By taking this test, the students can know their English skills competence.

Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is a certification program that is given to the last semester students to complete their Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI). The students who pass the test will receive a certificate which is internationally recognized. The certificate is expected to officially recognize their competence and help them to get a job.
