Admission

Politeknik Negeri Bandung (Polban) was established based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, No. 03/DJ/Kep/1979, dated January 27, 1979. Currently, Polban has earned the EXCELLENT predicate from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi or BAN PT). The total student population at Polban is about 8,300, distributed across 10 Departments with 37 Diploma-3 (D-3) and Applied Bachelor (Sarjana Terapan) study programs, as well as 3 Master’s degree programs.
The student admission system at Polban consists of 3 schemes:
- Regular SMB for the D-3 and Applied Bachelor programs via the paths: SNBP, SNBT, and SMBM (also known as independent or Jalur Mandiri path).
- SMB Applied Bachelor for D-3 graduates through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) path.
- SMB Applied Master, for regular and non-regular (employee class) programs.
